GE Mastr II Nomenclature

A special thanks to Keven K. Custer, W3KKC for this information.

You can find the MASTR II combination number on their ID plate which is located on the front of the radio to the left of the RF connector.  On the same ID plate you will also find the transmitter ID which is important when IDing a UHF PA deck.   Some UHF PA decks are called "trippler decks" because they tripple the exciter frequency to produce the desired output frequency.

The first digit is "M" which equates to it's mechanical packaging which is standard.

The second digit is system voltage, either a "C" for 12 VDC negitive ground or an "X" for 12 VDC positive or negitive ground less accessories.

Special thanks to Rob, K7TGU for providing the complete GE nomenclature for the MASTR II mobile radio.
